CS:GO on M1 Macs

Image
I have a M1 Mac mini and wanted to play CS:GO on it. Steam uses Rosetta 2 for the transition to ARM. The out-of-the-box performance is not that great but I found some settings in steam to change it for having a relaxed unranked session after school. Under the general options of the game I use the following Launch options: "-high -tickrate 128 -novid -nojoy +cl_forcepreload 1 -console -lv +fps_max 1 +cl_showfps 1 or net_graph 1" All settings to minimum at 1280x720 with these settings I get 47 fps consistently and my cpu is running at max. 80%.

How to get an flat edge design for iPhone XR/11

Image
The newer iPhone all have the flat edge design. In my opinion it feels better than the older designs (iPhone 6-11). Because I always use a case to secure my phone, I looked for a case with this design for the "older" iPhones and found one. Orda  is the brand wich produces these cases for iPhone XR and 11. It is available in Europe and makes the iPhone look like it's 3-4 years younger. It feels and looks much better. The Case is slim enough so that you could think it is the official apple case for the iPhone 12/13/14.  Get the Case here The only disappointment is that the color is wearing off after about 4 month on the volume buttons. I hope this will be fixed in the future by the manufacturer. Also the case is very lightly flat out, if this would be an edgier flat edge design (you know what I mean) it would be perfect. If you have other cases wich have this flat edge design like the newer iPhone let me know in the comments. I only found this one for Europe.

How to fix the Proximity Sensor (a little bit permanently) on the Oculus Quest 1

Image
The Oculus Quest 1 had a common issue with the proximity sensor in many first-generation devices. When this problem occurs, the device powers on and displays the boot logo, but the screen quickly goes dark. To address this, you can try enabling USB debugging and developer mode, then use the controller to authorize the PC connection. Afterward, disable the proximity sensor using SideQuest or the Developer Hub, as described in the short tutorial by jrowberg on Reddit. I recommend trying this solution first. If it resolves the issue, great! However, in my case, the problem became more complicated because the “Allow on this PC” button disappeared so quickly that I couldn’t click it in time. I tried multiple times on different PCs and with different cables, but the pop-up vanished too fast. Frustrated, I discovered a teardown of the Quest 1 online and decided to watch it (though not very thoroughly, since I was already annoyed). The teardown process was complex, and the chances of reassem
